Martina Cilia

Martina Cilia joined the Malta Gaming Authority in 2019 and holds the role of Manager - International Affairs and Policy Strategy. Martina’s role and experience is to handle matters pertinent to the International Affairs of the Authority and to lead the policy development process. Her main areas of work include horizon scanning for any EU and International regulatory developments which prompt policy or regulatory intervention. She is also responsible for the management of the MGA’s bilateral relations with other gambling regulators, and for all efforts of international cooperation.

As an extension of her role, she assists relevant departments in the development and implementation of the MGA’s policy positions, particularly in areas of data protection and sports integrity. By adopting an evidence-based approach to policy development, the Authority works towards its mission statement to ensure that licensed gaming operators are fair and transparent to all players, prevent crime, corruption and money laundering, whilst protecting minors and vulnerable players.
