
Biography:
Hunter is a Venture Partner at Next Play Capital, a fund of funds and direct venture fund that invests on behalf of an LP base made up largely of professional athletes, sports team owners, and family offices. Hunter spent 8 years playing in the NFL as a linebacker for the Chicago Bears, a time during which he served on the Board of the NFLPA and graduated from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management with his MBA. Upon retirement, Hunter started a sports and video game technology company called Overdog, that sold in early 2016. He then jumped over to the investor side of the table and joined the team at OCA Ventures, a VC fund based out of Chicago. He left OCA to join as an early employee at STRIVR, a training platform that uses virtual reality to train professionals in the world of sports, business, and healthcare. He joined the Next Play team in the summer of 2019, where he provides the team with a presence in the eastern half of the US from his homebase in Nashville, TN.
